OrthoGraph floor plan survey system, as a platform can not only measure alphanumerical values of buildings and create BIM models of them, it can also be integrated with external systems via its cloud-based architecture. This allows for a unified measurement, standardized storage and valuation of properties and their attributes. These data – including 3D BIM models – with right access management are available in a web browser and can also be downloaded / exported from a mobile device in PDF, DXF, IFC and Excel formats.
OrthoGraph measurements can be unified in a measurement template, where the necessary data can be stored which are needed to be recorded by the surveyor for every building survey. These data can not only be text or numeric, they can also be i.e. attached photos.
OrthoGraph will display the drawn and measured room shapes on-site and the changes in form resulted from continuous measurement. Locations will connect to each other via the door in-between rooms. To create unified floor plans there needs to be a uniform method set, which will be needed for the required quality of data and formats. Floor plan surveys are usually conducted starting from a central location, attaching smaller rooms in the process, which is the best way of minimizing inaccuracies and speeding up the work process.
Every element of the floor plan has BIM attributes. The measurement of these attributes also need be incorporated in the unified surveying method.
Surveying larger facilities in teams can also be done. The starting point building model for a team needs to be shared via OrthoGraph Cloud with the respective team.
Unified access of building models
Every OrthoGraph project can be uploaded to OrthoGraph Cloud with the push of a button even multiple times, which allows separate versions of a model and also, if needed surveying in groups. The survey project – which defines one property – is shared with the surveyors by the manager of it and all the projects will be found in under one account in OrthoGraph Cloud.
Every project in their current status can be accessed by external systems for data analysis, comparison, integrated handling of attached data, etc. In OrthoGraph projects every object of a BIM model can have their own separate link, where you can access the object from a mobile device with the help of OrthoGraph Cloud in a web browser (Google Chrome is recommended).
Further OrthoGraph Cloud features include the 3D Web Viewer, where you can view the 3D model of a project in a web browser, even integrated as a component of an external system.
The OrthoGraph 3D Web Viewer is not only capable of displaying 3D models, separate objects are clickable with their own unique attributes that can be viewed right there. These also include attached photos, so a full OrthoGraph BIM model can be accessed on a desktop computer, so there is no need to use a mobile device for viewing models.
The OrthoGraph API allows the possibility of accessing data for external systems. The main feature of the unified property registry is this surface of data access, which allows the registered and authorized external systems directly access OrthoGraph´s surveyed data of which can be modified and expanded to a certain degree.
With it the results of the on-site surveying are visible in a matter of minutes in the external analytic systems, with contents of both the numeric and drawn.
Every project possesses their own real-estate datasheet, on which the main project related data can be accessed. OrthoGraph 3D Web Viewer and the downloadable project of the surveyes floor plans – which you can do in the main CAD formats and PDF, Excel – can also be found here.
There’s also possibility to attach external systems to floor plan elements or vice versa. If there is a link-based integration between OrthoGraph and an external web system, then these automations are available on-site in the mobile app and in the functionality of the OrthoGraph 3D Web Viewer. This allows users to obtain the supplementary information added by the external systems or vice versa.
The OrthoGraph system can only be accessed by users with a username and password. The shared projects – the measured or to be measured properties – can only be accessed by authorized users on-site or in the OrthoGraph Cloud system.
Both external developers and integrated systems can only access their own data with their own unique identifier keys from the OrthoGraph Cloud database. Without these the data is securely stored without the possibility of breach.
If a partner’s data protection policy regulates that every property data has be stored on their own devices, then this is also possible with a customized install. In these instances the OrthoGraph mobile client apps must be calibrated that it communicates with the partner’s own server instead of OrthoGraph Cloud’s. All of the data will be stored on the mobile device or the partner’s server and the uploads and updates are happening only between the partner’s devices. All of the above apply for authorization and password management, but this has to be ensured by the partner’s system.
When a floor plan isn’t enough
There are instances when the property that needs to be surveyed requires more information than a 3D BIM model, like when a building’s construction is in progress, proper setting and the ability to measure cabling , tubes, drains are needed before revetment and rendering.
The same can be applied when a highly detailed documentation is needed of measurements of i.e. statues, murals or highly complicated tubing or structures.
OrthoGraph’s product portfolio consists of the new imaging and laser scanning solution made in conjunction with Leica Geosystems: the BLK360 hardware and the OrthoGraph-developed iPad app. It allows measurements up to 3mm accuracy with colored point cloud creation consisting of tens of thousans of million dots. Annotations, photos and voice recordings can also be attached. The data handling can happen on-site with az iPad.
With this system, creating floor plans are easy to make, which can be imported into OrthoGraph and is a part of the full BIM model.
