  • NEW!!! - Creation of BIM Model - The measured drawing including all floor-plan symbols, objects with their parameters can easily be imported into a 3D BIM model using ArchiCAD - the inventor of BIM concept.
  • Controlled data entry - Any omissions or inaccurate data can be detected right on the site, thereby identifying the need for measurements or control measurements.
  • Extended reporting and exports - Get exact area, wall/door/window surfaces on the spot. These data give you the opportunity to react to any upcoming question on-site, give an offer/make your calculations as you are done with your measurements. These calculated information are available later also by the reporting/many export formats.
  • Easy review of the data - The process of real estate surveying is easily reviewable thanks to the structured data handling. OrthoGraph is the only floor plan software that combines a hierarchic view of the building with its floor plan. During the work process, the PDA always shows the important details, and thus ensures good reviewability despite the small size of the device.
  • Accuracy - Precise, detailed surveying of small details, rooms, and even larger industrial buildings. Assess as much data as necessary.

And many more...

  • Team work support (OrthoGraph™ Survey only) - Several surveyors can work independently on different parts of a real estate. The team work support feature enables the easy handling of even large quantities of data.
  • No need for additional assessments - You can record controlled information right on the site: you can employ type, key, and mandatory fields and fixed lists. Eliminates burdensome and costly added assessments.
  • Estimation of wall finishing materials - You can get accurate information right on the site about the quantities of each covering material required, as well as the surface and other data of wall openings and shutters.
  • Support of laser distance recorder - The software fully supports the Leica Disto™ A6, Disto™ D8 as well as the Leica Disto™ D3a BT manual laser distance recorders, which are equipped with Bluetooth technology, enabling (thanks to wireless data gathering) faster and more accurate work than traditional surveying.
  • CAD and CAFM support - Almost all architectural CAD systems are supported by the software, including ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Allplan CAD and Google SketchUp, as well as the ArchiFM facility management software.
  • Outstanding flexibility - You can use an industrial or manual distance recorder, or even a measuring tape, for the surveying.

Simplify Your Work!

By using the OrthoGraph floor plan software, you can prevent data from being omitted from the survey as well as inaccurate data. The data are immediately available in an electronic form, and can be checked right on the site on the PDA screen. The result of the survey can be immediately read by other software or printed according to scale. The system supports the major data formats (.dwg, .skp, .xls, .xml, .pdf, .txt, etc. and even ArchiCAD). In addition, direct data base connection can be established, too.

Save Time, Effort and Money!

The findings of the survey are immediately compiled by the floor plan software in an electronic form, thereby eliminating the need for additional data recording. Since the entire surveying process is controlled, the software immediately signals distortions and deficiencies. As a result, any errors that occurred are revealed right on the site; therefore there is no need for costly and time-consuming additional assessments. Upon completion of the survey, the software shows whether all required information is available or additional measurements have to be made on the site for clarification. Right on the site is available a reporting function, where besides the floor surface the wall surface, room volume, and many other measured and calculated information is available, and not only for the particular room, but for the belonging ones as well. This means that by using the system, you can save time, labor and money, and the floor plan made by the software will be very accurate and subsequently easily usable.

Flexible Data Processing

The findings of the survey can be saved in DWG format so that in the future they may be used in virtually every architectural CAD programs. In addition native ArchiCAD import functionality is also available for 3D measured drawings and parametized objects in the form of a professional BIM Model. The native SKP (Google SketchUp) output is also available for those who are not professional designers or architects, but need to use a function rich (optionally free) CAD software. Using these formats, the measured floor-plans are - based on the room-height information - extruded to 3D, including the wall openings and furnishing as well. If that is not required, you may want to print scaled-down or enlarged ground-plans and room books about the areas by means of the built-in PDF-format reports of the OrthoGraph ProjectManager module. For web use the rastered JPG, PNG, BMP floor plan formats are also available. For this, you need only to push a button. If the tasks to be carried out include inventory and data gathering, the data recording function of the OrthoGraph Inventory is conveniently available.

Learn More About the Operation of the OrthoGraph™ Survey and Architect!

The system consists of two software elements: a PC component (ProjectManager) and a PDA component (Surveyor).

Most Important Functions of the OrthoGraph™ Survey and Architect:

  • Handling spaces in a hierarchic structure
  • Preparing sketches of floor plans
  • Quick and automated graphic floor-plan assessment, with real time visualization
  • Connecting places - "floating islands" function
  • On-site reports
  • Handling "ghost layers" - display of drawn areas in the background
  • Handling objects and floor plan symbols
  • Team-work support (OrthoGraph™ Survey only)
  • Support of the Leica Disto A6 laser distance recorder
  • Native SKP (Google SketchUp) and DWG exporting function
  • detailed floor-plan (walls, wall parts, wall surface parts, objects etc.)
  • using external object models while exporting
  • Full-scale inventory function of the OrthoGraph Inventory. (OrthoGraph™ Survey only)

The first step of the survey is the drawing of a sketch of the area on the site, which is used as the basis for the survey. The software controls the automated surveying process on the basis of the sketch and the result of the process is an accurate electronic ground-plan. The speed and accuracy of the process can be increased by using a laser distance recorder. Leica's Disto A6 model not only handles the surveying data but can simultaneously manage the entire surveying process.

The system handles the logical structure and relationships of areas in a tree-structure. The levels of the tree structure progress from larger units to smaller ones (e.g., plot, building, floor, and room). With the help of the OrthoGraph ProjectManager, we can predefine the types and properties of the levels of the hierarchy. During the survey, the OrthoGraph Survey works with the recorded structure.

Various zone types may be created within each level of the structure, with the help of which neighboring logical structural elements can be visually well distinguished and assigned by various characteristics (e.g., tenants or organizational units can be separated; parts of an area can be separated on the basis of their wall finishing materials, etc.).

The structural arrangement largely enhances the user's ability to view the data during both the survey and the subsequent data usage. On-site surveys begin with the identification of the structural arrangement. The hierarchic structure shows the relationship between the elements of the floor plan as well as their location in the world.

The surveying data pertaining to each hierarchic element are recorded one by one, enabling the user to record the most important properties of each element of the structure. These properties are information pertaining to the ground-plan whose recording considerably increases the usability of the survey results. These data can be textual (e.g., postal addresses), numerical (e.g., floor number, financial identification numbers), or describe distances (e.g., internal height). Not only fixed lists and marking squares can be used but even images and file attachments.

Upon specifying the related data, graphic surveying is commenced. This process consists of two phases: first, a sketch is made and then second, the actual surveying takes place.

In the user interface, the programme offers a wide range of tools for making the sketch: lines may be drawn manually, angles may be specified, perpendicular and parallel lines may be drawn to existing lines, arched wall sections can be drawn, etc. Closed areas may be modified by moving, deleting or adding corners, arching or straightening walls, and adding doors, windows, and items of furniture.

In order to receive an accurate ground-plan of the area, we have to measure various distances. This is the most spectacular and most special part of the process because it is this function of the system that enables the creation of electronic architectural data, including information about the ground-plan, doors and windows, engineering elements and furnishings, simultaneously with the on-site survey of the floor plan. The system supports the survey with an automatic surveying algorithm; it shows missing measurements and recommends the ensuing measurements.

After finishing our surveying work, we can benefit from the measured data immediately by using the on-site reporting function of the software. The report shows detailed data besides the floor surface the wall surface, room volume, and many other measured and calculated information, and not only for the particular room, but for the belonging ones as well. These are the kind of data that let our users to win more projects/be faster than ever before, and be much better than their competitors with responding to questions immediately even on site. Nowadays getting such a benefit worth really a lot.
